Battalion Executive Officer: c/MAJ Michael Rodriguez
Michael Rodriguez joined the Redhawk Battalion in August 2021. He started in Bravo Company when he later was promoted to Private First Class. In his second year, he was promoted to Captain and positioned as the Company Commander for Delta Company. Where he gained the leadership and management experience he needed to progress in JROTC.
Starting this year he will serve as the Battalion Executive Officer. His goals for the Battalion are to build meaningful & direct relationships will all cadets. As well as build a legacy that will inevitably be passed down for years to come. |
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Cadet Battalion Executive Officer (BXO) supervises, directs, and coordinates the battalion staff officers to prevent overlapping errors and to ensure that the commander’s desires are understood and achieved. The BXO keeps the staff officers informed of the commander’s policies and keeps the commander informed of the status of all projects assigned to the staff. The BXO assumes command of the battalion in the absence of the BC.
- Update the Battalion Staff on any changes that require their attention.
- Ensure that all Battalion Operations function properly
- Give an update on the status of the projects assigned to the Battalion Staff
- Inspect the work of the Battalion Staff on a weekly basis
- Keep the Battalion Staff updated on upcoming events/assignments Via Staff Call
- Plan & Execute Battalion Events
- Ensure Cadet Officers are prepared and organized to succeed
- Ensure that instructions and orders issued to the cadet battalion are in accordance with the established policies of the cadet battalion commander; report all violations of orders to the cadet battalion commander.
- Act as the commander of troops during ceremonies.
- Ensure that the battalion staff officers prepare and submit reports on time and that they are engaged in future planning.
- Organize the cadet battalion staff properly and ensure that it works as a team.
